BMX Is Back!

From 1st May 2020

BMXNT would like to thank the BMX community for your patience and understanding while restrictions on sport and public gatherings have been in place.
Following the Chief Ministers announcement yesterday, we are pleased to confirm that individual outdoor BMX activities, where physical distancing can be maintained at all times, can resume from noon today, Friday 1 May 2020.
This includes training and solo participation activities at clubs but does not include competition or racing, as safe social distancing cannot be maintained during these activities. Racing and competitions can resume from 5 June 2020.
There are no restrictions on group numbers of less than 500 people, however BMXNT requests that all participants exercise appropriate social distancing, maintain good personal hygiene and that people leave facilities as soon as their activity is completed.
We request that all clubs ensure that facilities are kept clean and sanitised and that equipment is not shared.
Clubhouses or canteens where food and beverages are consumed can continue to operate for take away only until May 15th when they can resume fully subject to the completion of a NT COVID-19 checklist (available from May 5th).
We will work together with all BMXNT clubs to ensure that everyone in the BMXNT community can enjoy the sport we have all missed in a safe environment.

Please visit for the latest health alerts and precautionary advice regarding COVID-19.

BMXNT 2020 Grand Tour Series: Cancelled

BMXNT appreciate the great effort our members make to attend the BMXNT Grand Tour Series and feel it is important that we keep you informed of changes that affect the BMXNT racing calendar.

Unfortunately, due to current the restrictions on travel and public gatherings within the NT, we are unable to provide our community with clear future dates for a series that could be inclusive for all NT riders. Therefore the BMXNT Board have made the difficult resolution to cancel the 2020 Grand Tour Series.

We are open to the possibility of holding an alternative event later in the year and will focus our attention on exploring opportunities once the current restrictions have been lifted.

Planning for the 2020 BMXNT Titles at Big Rivers BMX Club will continue as scheduled and we will include the Grand Tour Series in the 2021 event calendar.

We thank everyone in the BMXNT community for your patience and understanding while this decision was being made.

BMXNT Covid Update

An update from BMXNT

Dear BMXNT affiliated members,

We are living during an unprecedented time of increasing uncertainty and the need to prioritise the health and safety of our community must take paramount importance.

The advice and recommendations around COVID-19 has been developing daily with the latest advice from the Federal Government being that all non-essential gatherings must be avoided until further notice.

Although the current government guidelines around outdoor sport suggests that gatherings of less than 10 people can continue, BMXNT acknowledges the request from BMXA for all BMX associations to postpone BMX activities until further notice.
We are aware that until now our affiliated clubs have been doing their best work within the government guidelines, maintain member health and safety and continue to provide a service for their members. Until now it has been our aim to support everyone with their endeavours.
Now though, we see no option but to strongly recommend that all clubs postpone all BMX activity until further notice in an effort to protect everyone in the BMXNT community.
We will provide updates on the situation on a regular basis through direct contact with Member Associations and through social media channels.

BMXNT appreciates your assistance as we join Australia in attempting to manage the spread of COVID-19.

Gary Shaw

Executive Officer
